Bed and breakfast accommodation styles
There are two styles of hosted bed and breakfast accommodation included in this directory and individual property descriptions tell you which they type are -
- bed and breakfast accommodation described as 'traditional' is most often, but not always, in-house, and always includes breakfast, usually prepared and served by your hosts
- bed and breakfast accommodation described as 'self-contained' may be in-house or in a separate building from the host's dwelling, with breakfast provisions included in the tariff; the definition of 'hosted' used in this context means that the proprietor lives on the same property and is available to guests
Important - check before you book
Every effort is made to ensure that accommodation listings are accurate and up to date. However, it is important to understand that property descriptions are supplied by operators and we rely on them to keep details up to date. For your own protection you should check details before booking your accommodation and no responsibility is accepted by us for any failure on your part to do so.
In particular, before booking your accommodation, always check the total cost for the number of people in your party, including children, and that breakfast is included in that cost.
Please bear in mind that many Tasmanian bed and breakfast properties have stairs, and in 'character' properties they may be 'character' stairs, so if mobility is an issue you need to clarify this point also.
