You are cordially invited to join in promoting wonderful Tasmanian hospitality to the world through this directory, designed by me, Webwoman, also known as Brenda Bourne, a website designer and bed and breakfast proprietor operating right here in Tasmania.

The aim of this directory -

• To include as many Tasmanian hosted bed and breakfast in one simple-to-use directory as possible
• To list only hosted bed and breakfast accommodation
• To provide an accurate map to help people plan their touring route
• To list all operators by towns, with each town on a single page (no getting lost below the fold)
• To show the location of all operators on one scaleable Google map
• To make listings concise and consistent, including a brief description plus the basics which people look for, such as accommodation style, configuration, maximum guests, tariff
• To send visitors direct to operators' own websites for more information - and commission-free bookings
• To have the site included as a distributor site under the Tas e-connect initiative, with online booking capability for TXA-integrated operator booking systems
• To include brief town/area notes to encourage people to stay in your town
• To create a resource of huge value to potential customers and to the hosted bed and breakfast industry

Eligibility

To be eligible for listing on this site, you must offer hosted bed and breakfast accommodation which meets the criteria for one or both of the following types -

• bed and breakfast accommodation described as 'traditional' is most often, but not always, in-house, and always includes breakfast, usually prepared and served by the hosts, or
  
• bed and breakfast accommodation described as 'self-contained' may be in-house or in a separate building from the host's dwelling, with breakfast provisions included in the tariff; the definition of 'hosted' used in this context means that the proprietor lives on the same property and is available to guests
