Meet your hosts

David & Tess Lemondine - Bears Went Over the Mountain B & B, Geeveston

Dave is a qualified chef of 30 years experience, a former 'rolling stone' who claims to also have many other trades under his belt, including auctioneer and valuer. He travelled all over Australia and lived in most states as a young fella, before settling in Canberra for 30 years.

Wife Tess is a third generation country town girl, who spent a lot of time in the NSW National Parks area, before joining Dave in running an auction business in Canberra for 12 years.

A 'sea change' and somewhere safe for PJ to grow up

The couple sold up in Canberra to travel round Oz and find a place which was safe, beautiful and affordable, where they were still able to carve out a living. 2007 saw them move to Tasmania, to enjoy their 'sea change' and somewhere to safe raise their 7 year old daughter, Paris-Jade (PJ).

As well as the B & B, Dave and Tess also operate a restaurant. Dave rates Tess as very good in the customer relations and front of house part of the business, whilst he toils away behind the scenes. The restaurant offers guests a wonderful meal at night, with plenty of stories and entertainment by Tess and PJ.

Friendly to kids and pets too

Bears Went Over the Mountain is friendly to everyone, including children, which is appreciated by many families looking for accommodation where the kids are welcome. So there are games and lots of fun things for the kids, even a jumping castle. Bears is also pet friendly (especially dogs).

The B & B and restaurant are right in the main street and close to all town amenities, so why wouldn’t you want to stay at The Bears of Geeveston!
